After a lifetime spent guiding little readers through their first books, I traded lesson plans for paint palettes and discovered a new kind of classroom — my studio. Teaching shaped how I see the world: patient observation, a love of color and story, and an enduring delight in small discoveries.

As an artist I’m learning anew, experimenting with style and technique, letting brushstrokes speak where words once did.
